Visiting post for Bodhi Rook

The Guardian hauls the incensed pilot to a cell, which opens just enough for Baze to shove Bodhi through. The barrier shimmers closed.

"I'll be back," Baze informs him, and then heads off to write his report, collect his staff, and pick up a cup of tea.

Bodhi Rook, in for one night for punching Autor. Arrested on this date by Baze Malbus.

Bodhi fumes, saying nothing and pacing from corner to corner of the cell.

When Baze returns, he's balancing a tray with a pot of Earl Grey Sencha and two cups in one hand, holding his staff in the other. He settles on the floor before the barrier in the lotus position, and leans his staff against the glass. The tea, he pours into the two cups, and pushes one through the barrier.

Bodhi takes a couple of deep breaths and comes over to sit next to the tea, not taking it yet.

"Thank you, Baze."

He needs to calm down a little more before he drinks. His hands are shaking.

"Don't thank me yet," Baze says, indulging in his tea.

"That was stupid."

"I know." He takes another slow breath and picks up the tea. He sips it, deliberately and carefully.

Welp. Baze didn't expect him to calm down so quickly. But that's good! Now what?

"I heard most of it. But do you want to tell me what happened?"

[imthepilot]

Bodhi shakes his head. "If you heard most of it, you know what happened." He doesn't sound even slightly contrite.

Baze scratches his beard. Well, then. He's not quite sure how to proceed, so he starts with the basics of the fight.

"From what I heard, you let a kid goad you into hitting him. He questioned the nature of your relationship with Galen, and you responded by getting madder than a hornet. That right?"

Bodhi considers that for a moment and takes another sip of the tea. "Yeah. That's right."

[galen_erso]

Galen comes rushing into the cells, a datapad in his hands.

"Bodhi!" he calls out, as if read to storm through absolutely everybody who might keep him from seeing his fiancé.

His beloved.

There is nobody there, though, so Galen comes rushing through all the way to the cells.

Bodhi is sitting against the wall, a tea cup and pot next to his hand and his eyes closed. He smiles and opens his eyes. "Hey Galen."

There's no sign of injuries and he seems calm. Tired, but calm.

Galen comes rushing up to him, not seeing the clear wall as such, expecting to be stopped by a force field. At the last moment, he sees the glint of his own reflection and stops short.

"I wish I could hug you!" he blurts out. "What happened?"

Bodhi rests a tired hand on the force field, trying to reassure his frantic lover. "I'm alright. I got into an argument with Autor. That kid with the glasses."

[galen_erso]

Galen puts his hand where Bodhi's is, touching and not touching.

"I know him," he says. "He's a pest who thinks he knows other people's business better than they do. He questioned me about my way of defying the Empire, insisting I should have done everything different. I don't know why he even cares. What did he do to you?"

There's not a moment's doubt that this must be Autor's fault.

Bodhi sighs and shrugs, fingers curling out of a desire to touch Galen. "He questioned us. Whether we'd been together long enough or knew each other well enough to get married."

[galen_erso]

"That is no concern of his," Galen says. "He's not even invited; and in light of this, he is most emphatically disinvited. I'd much rather hope Baze will get Chirrut to come."

Pause.

"I think the name 'Autor' translates to 'author' or 'writer'. He treats everybody as if they were characters in a story he is writing. He really needs to be disabused of that notion."

Another pause.

"He would have got very far in the Empire, once he'd accepted that Vader and the Emperor are the deities in the holy book that he is tasked to write."

Bodhi takes a deep breath. "I may have broken his nose." He doesn't sound rather repentant.

"There may be an issue there. Baze was the one who arrested me. I didn't fight him or anything. But I was snarky with him. I think I hurt his feelings."

Bodhi can blame the Force for Ibani winding her way to the jail cells while he's present. She just...had a feeling.

She looks surprised to see Bodhi there, though. "Ah, Bodhi, I wasn't expecting to see you here."

Bodhi opens his eyes from where he's resting against the wall, a tea cup at his side.

"I lost my temper and decked someone." He gives her a little shrug. "Not the first time. Just the first time here. Baze is pissed with me."

[galen_erso]

"He's always pissed with me, so he's got practice," says a voice from somebody in the office, and then Galen Erso enters the cell tract, bearing caf.

"Oh, I'll come back later."

Ibani hms thoughtfully. "I expect with his being on security having to arrest a friend makes things difficult. You didn't hurt yourself decking them, did you?"

Ibani starts to turn Galen's way before he speaks, which may seem odd unless you know that Ibani's a Force sensitive. "I'm guessing that you're Galen?"

Bodhi gives her a playful scowl and holds up his hand. His knuckles are a little red but nothing broken or bruised. "I may not be as graceful as you but I can throw a punch."

He beams at them. "Galen, this is Ibani. She's a good friend. She's from our galaxy, only much earlier. Ibani, this is my fiance Galen." He couldn't be happier saying it.

[galen_erso]

"Ibani," Galen says. "So glad to meet you at last; Bodhi did mention you. I should get a third cup of caf."

Pause.

"How much earlier? Were the colossi of Jedha still standing?"

[last_kallig]

"Good," Ibani replies, pleased to see he's not injured. "Hello, Galen, Bodhi's mentioned you often."

"I don't know about the Colossi, but my estimate is about 3600 years before your time."

She snorts. "It would be easier to estimate how long if the Republic Senate didn't keep changing dating systems every time something significant happened," she quips

"Well have to find a timeline in the library at some point. Something we can use to work it out." Bodhi nods, blushing a little. Yeah, he might mention Galen a bit.

"Ibani's offered to teach me some of the techniques she knows for assessing and using the space around you. I thought it might be helpful with my climbing." And if he gets into more fights.
